This little 5 foot tall and 2 foot squared tower grows fresh organic vegetables more effectively and efficiently than growing food in the ground. By optimizing space, nutrients, and lighting, the harvest will be grown quicker with less requirements (while being completely indoors). This project is just a small sample of this innovative technology. Vertical growing practices are ideal for city dwellers who are looking for affordable, local, organic produce annually.
This project is brought to you by Quest student, Connor Heinrichs, through the Experiential Learning Program. Connor has developed this project in conjunction with Squamish CAN and continues to develop a larger scale model of a vertical farm (phase two).
